He is Risen

HAPPY EASTER!!!
Welcome to The Bible For Women and welcome to the Easter 2014 Blog.

First let's start with the story of Easter. Here are a few of my favourite (some are graphic and very powerful) videos all about Jesus, the cross, his resurrection and what we know to be as the Christian Festival of Easter.

I personally would say Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar. It celebrates the resurrection from the dead of Jesus, three days after he was executed. The Easter story is at the heart of Christianity.
Here's a copy of the Easter Story from a very awesome website, details below...
The Easter Story
Waving Palms- As Jesus came closer to Jerusalem, he asked two of his disciples to go ahead of Him.  He said, "When you get to the town, you will see a donkey tied up.  Untie it, and bring it to me.  If anyone asks you about taking the donkey, just tell them, 'The Lord needs it and He will bring it back as soon as He's done with it.'"
So the disciples did as Jesus asked.  They soon found the donkey tied at a doorway.  As they were untying it, some people were standing nearby visiting and they didn't recognize the men and asked, "What are you doing?  Why are you untying the donkey?"
They replied just as Jesus had told them too.  Explaining that the Lord needed it, and the people let them go.
When they brought the donkey to Jesus some of the disciples took off their coats and laid them on the donkey's back.  They did this out of respect for Jesus.  Then Jesus rode on the donkey towards Jerusalem.
As He was traveling, some people saw Jesus coming and came running towards Him.  They had heard He might be coming and they wanted to see him, because he had just helped a dead man come back to life.
One by one they laid their coats on the ground for the donkey to step on.  Even the people that weren't wearing coats ran to the fields and trees nearby and cut palm branches and laid them down.
These people knew that Jesus was special.  It was like when a King or Queen come to town, and people roll out a red carpet for them to step on.  This is what they did for Jesus when they laid their coats, and branches down.
As they got even closer to the town more and more people noticed Jesus.  A crowd surrounded Him and started to shout praises to Him for all the miracles He had done.  "Hosanna!  Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna, Hosanna!"
The word Hosanna means save us.  They said this because Jesus was helping them and doing amazing things.  They wanted to praise Him, and they wanted Him to keep helping them.
Some men named Pharisees (these men thought that they were important, and a lot of the people listened to them).  They heard the crowd praising God, and they said to Jesus, "Teacher, why don't you tell these people to stop praising you as if you were God?"
The Pharisees thought that Jesus was getting too much attention from the people.  They wanted to be the most important, but everyone was listening to Jesus instead.
Jesus replied, "If they were quiet now, even the rocks would cry out!"   Even the rocks knew that He was God,  after all, Jesus did make them.
Now Jesus could see Jerusalem and it made Him very sad.  He came to help the people, but no one realized that He was God, and they didn't accept Him.

The Last Supper
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples asked Jesus, "Where would you like us to plan for you to eat the Passover feast?"  Jesus replied to them, "Go into the city and you will find a man, and tell him that we would like to come to his house for Passover."

First of all, what is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and what is the Passover?  These are actually the same things.  The Jews celebrated the Passover ever since the time of Moses, when the Lord saved all the Israelite babies.  This was when the Lord 'passed over' their houses, and they were kept safe.  This is another big story your teacher will have to tell you another time.

During the time of the Passover celebrations the people didn't eat or have any bread in their homes with yeast in it.  Yeast is what makes the bread all big and puffy.  Without yeast the bread is flat, and that is called unleavened bread.  Now back to the story.

The disciples did just as Jesus asked, and they found a place and got ready for the Passover.

The evening came, and Jesus and the twelve disciples sat to eat the meal.  The disciples were eating quietly, they had a lot on their minds.  They were worried because some people wanted to kill Jesus because he was getting so popular.

Jesus could see the disciples were worried.  He said to them quietly, "I tell you the truth, one of you here will betray me."  The disciples looked at each other in shock, and some of them asked Jesus, "It isn't me, is it Lord?"

Jesus replied, "The one who dips his bread into the bowl with me will betray me.  I will die, just as it is written, but the man who betrays me will feel sorry forever.

Then Judas, with his head down spoke quietly to Jesus, "It isn't me, is it?"  Jesus answered, "Yes, you are the one."  Judas' head went down even lower, he had hoped that the other disciples had not heard what Jesus said.  Luckily, they were paying more attention to Jesus breaking apart some bread.

He thanked God for the bread and shared it with the disciples and said, "Take this and eat it.  This is my body which is given for you".  Then he took a full cup, thanked God for it and said, "This is my blood, which will be poured out  for many people so their sins may be forgiven."  Then they all took a sip from the cup.

The meal continued after this, it was a long celebration.  The disciples took their time, because they enjoyed talking with Jesus and asking Him questions.  (Just like when you go out to eat with your parents and their friends, sometimes they seem to talk forever, and you just want to go home...).

After some time Jesus got up from the table and went to a different part of the room.  He took off his everyday clothes, and put a large towel around him, making himself look like a servant.  After that, he poured water into a large bowl and began to wash the disciples' feet.  Then dried them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.

First of all, Jesus is like a King - but even greater than a king, He's the King of King's!  By washing the disciples feet He was doing something that only a servant would do.  This would be like if someone famous came to your house and started to clean your room, even getting down on their hands and knees to clean under your bed!  It probably would never happen.

When it was Peter's turn to get his feet clean he said to Jesus, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"  Jesus replied, "You don't understand what I am doing, but you will later."

"No," said Peter, "you will never wash my feet."  He said this because he didn't feel right having Jesus wash his feet.  He knew Jesus was very special.

Jesus replied back to him, "If I don't wash your feet, you cannot be with me."
"Then, Lord,"  Peter replied, "don't just wash my feet but my hands and head too."  Jesus then explained that He only needed to wash his feet; and that would make his whole body clean.
When Jesus had finished washing all of the disciples feet, he put his everyday clothes back on and returned to the table.  "Do you understand what I have done for you?"  Jesus asked them.  "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and that is who I am.  And now that I have washed your feet, you can also wash one another's feet."

This is an example of how you should treat others.  You don't have to actually wash other people's feet, but by doing nice things to other's and acting like a servant for Jesus, that is what He wants you to do.  If you do these things Jesus will bless you.

Jesus Prays
After singing a song at the Passover meal Jesus and his disciples went to a garden called Gethsemane.  It was getting to be quite late in the evening, so everyone was whispering.

Jesus was especially quiet, and walked a bit ahead of the rest of the group.  He looked as if He was sad and upset about something.  He stopped and whispered to some of the disciples, "Sit here, while I pray."

Then with Peter, James, and John he walked just a little bit further and told them, "My heart feels heavy, and I feel very sad.  Please stay here and keep watch, I need some company close by."  The disciples looked at each other, they had never seen Jesus like this before.

Then Jesus walked a bit further by himself, next to a big tree he knelt down with his face to the ground and began to talk to God.  He prayed, "My Father, I know that I am about to go through some horrible things, I wish I wouldn't have to.  But it doesn't matter what I want, I will do whatever you want."

When He had finished praying he went back to where the disciples were and they had fallen asleep on the ground.  Jesus woke them and said to them, "Couldn't you have stayed awake for me for just a little while, you should also pray that you would continue to do what God wants."

The disciples felt bad, and tried to keep their eyes open.  But when they started praying,  they fell asleep.  Two more times Jesus went off to pray the same prayer as before, and when he was finished He came back to his friends disappointed.  They had fallen asleep again.

The third time Jesus woke them saying, "Are you sleeping again?  Enough!  It is time to go, here comes the man who is about to give me up to the people who want to hurt me."

While He was still speaking, Judas, one of Jesus' disciples was coming towards them.  He was followed by a large crowd of people who were carrying swords and clubs.  Judas walked right up to Jesus and gave Him a kiss on the cheek.  This was a sign to the chief priests that this was Jesus, and that he was the man that they wanted to arrest.

Jesus let them take him.  But one of Jesus disciples didn't like what was happening, he wanted to stick up for Jesus.  He took out his sword and cut off the ear of a chief priest.

Immediately, before the situation got more out of hand Jesus spoke firmly, "Enough!"  He reached up to the man whose ear had been hurt and healed it instantly.

Then Jesus spoke to all those around him. "If I wanted I could pray to my Father for help, and He would send angels to protect me, and stop this.  But I know this needs to happen to finish what it says in the Bible."

The disciples didn't know what to do. They were afraid that they might be arrested for being with Jesus so they quickly left,  leaving Jesus to be arrested alone.  Peter was the only disciple that followed Jesus.  He was careful to follow at a distance, because he was afraid.  He wanted to see what would happen to Jesus.

They took Jesus to a man named Caiaphas, he was the high priest (he made a lot of decisions).  This is where all the other 'important' people had gathered.  They were trying to find a reason to arrest Jesus, but He had never done anything wrong.  People tried to make up bad stuff, but they knew it wasn't true.

Finally Caiaphas asked Jesus, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of God?"  When Jesus replied that He was the Son of God Caiaphas couldn't believe it.  He even tore off some of his clothes because he thought what Jesus was saying was untrue.  These people didn't believe Jesus, and that's when they decided that they would kill him.

Meanwhile, Peter was just outside the building where they had taken Jesus.  A servant girl saw Peter and had recognized him and asked, "Weren't you with that man named Jesus?"  But Peter lied and said, "You don't know what you're talking about."

Peter started to walk away, but the girl spoke louder so the other people who were around could hear, "I'm sure you are one of the men that is friends with Jesus."  Again Peter said, "No, I don't know what you're talking about."

After a while more people asked Peter the same thing, and Peter started to get upset by this, and he said in a loud voice, "I don't know the man you are talking about, I've never talked to him."

Right after Peter said this a rooster crowed, and Peter remembered something Jesus had said to him.  "Before the rooster crows, you will turn your back on me three times."  When Peter remembered this he was very sad.  Peter was one of Jesus closest friends, and now he had lied and said he didn't even know him.

Peter started to cry.  How could he have done this to Jesus.

Jesus Dies on the Cross
Very early in the morning, the soldiers brought Jesus to Pilate, the governor at the time.  Pilate asked Jesus, "Are you the king of the Jews?"  Jesus replied, "Yes, I am."  This upset the chief priests because they were jealous of him and the friends He had made with the Jews.

Pilate listened to the complaints of the people that brought Jesus, but he couldn't find any reason to punish Him.  Pilate questioned Jesus, but Jesus didn't stick up for himself (He knew that they wouldn't listen anyway).  He had done nothing wrong.

Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people and said to them, "I have talked to Jesus, and I find no reason to kill Him."

After they heard that all the people shouted, "We want Jesus!  Release Barabbas instead!"  Barabbas had been in jail because he had killed someone, and the people wanted him to be free, and Jesus to be punished. ( It sounds strange but it was like peer pressure.  The chief priests went around telling people lies about Jesus, so that they would be afraid of Him, and want to kill Him).

Pilate didn't like this one bit.  He wanted to let Jesus go, so he tried to talk to the people but they didn't let him.  They just kept shouting, "Crucify Him!  Crucify Him!"

Pilate tried again, yelling, "What has Jesus done wrong?  I can punish Him but then I must let Him go, He doesn't deserve to die!"  But the people just shouted louder to crucify Jesus and Pilate wanted to please the crowd so he freed Barabbas and sent Jesus to die.

The soldiers led Jesus into the palace and made Him put on an old royal robe and they twisted together a crown of thorns to put on His head.  Then they made fun of Him and said, "Hail, king of the Jews."  They didn't understand that He was a king, that's why they made fun of Him.

Next the soldiers led Jesus toward a hill called Golgotha.  They made Him carry the cross on His back, but Jesus couldn't carry it the whole way, he fell down.  The soldiers had whipped His back and it hurt so much that Jesus couldn't handle the weight of the cross on His shoulders.

A man named Simon happened to be near Jesus when He fell, and the soldiers grabbed him, and made him carry the cross the rest of the way.  The soldiers offered Jesus wine mixed with myrrh.  This was supposed to help make it less painful, but Jesus refused to have any.

When they reached the top of the hill they nailed Jesus to the cross.  There were three crosses, Jesus was in the middle and there was a criminal on His right and on His left.  Pilate made a sign to be put on the cross.  It read what He was being punished for: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.

The soldiers watched Jesus and made fun of him, they even divided up his clothes to be even more mean.  And some people walked by and shouted, "You saved others, why can't you save Yourself?"  Jesus could have saved himself, but he chose not to, He wanted to save us instead.

Jesus ignored the people, but He did see his mother, his aunt, and some other women he knew.  Jesus felt bad for His mother, she was so sad to see her son die (just like your parents feel when you get hurt).

Then Jesus saw one of his disciples close to his mother, and he said, "Mother here is your son, and friend here is your mother."  Jesus couldn't say to much, he was very weak.  But he wanted his friend, the disciple to be like a son to his mother, and take care of her.  And from that day on he did.

Later, Jesus could not handle the pain any longer and He said, "It is finished."  That is when Jesus bowed His head and went to Heaven.

Suddenly, a huge curtain that hung at the temple was torn in half, from top to bottom.  And a man that had wanted Jesus to die saw all of this and he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"  He realized he had been wrong about Jesus.

Jesus is Alive
After Jesus died a man named Joseph (from a place called Arimathea) put Jesus in his tomb that nobody had ever used.  The tombs they used then were cut out of rock, almost like a cave,  they weren't buried deep in the ground like they are now.  Before Joseph left, he and some men rolled a large heavy stone in front of the tomb.

Mary and Mary Magdalene had waited a day to see Jesus, because they couldn't go on the Sabbath (it was a day of rest).  They made spices and oils as a sign of respect to Jesus, and went very early Sunday morning to go see Jesus' body.

As they were just about at the tomb the earth suddenly shook and an angel came down from heaven.  He easily rolled away the stone at the entrance of the tomb and sat on top of it.

The women looked at each other and rubbed their eyes, they couldn't believe what they had seen, plus it was very early in the morning, and they were still a little sleepy.  The angel was so bright, almost as bright as lightning.  His clothes were as white as snow.

There had been guards watching the tomb so no one would steal Jesus' body.  When they saw the angel they fell over and they couldn't move or speak because they were so afraid.

Then the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid.  I know you are looking for Jesus who has died.  But He isn't here; He has risen just as He said He would!  Come and see for yourself, the tomb is empty."

The women were confused.  How could this happen?  They were sure Jesus had died, and now He was alive?  They looked in the tomb and the cloths Jesus was wrapped in were laying on the ground, and the tomb was empty.  Then the angel spoke again, "If you want to find Jesus He's on his way to Galilee."

So the women hurried away, they were laughing and crying at the same time.  They didn't know what to feel, they had been so sad that Jesus was dead and now they were so excited He was alive!  They just knew they had to find Jesus, and they had to tell the disciples the good news.

As they were running down the path they turned a corner, and there was Jesus.  "Greetings," He said.  The ladies fell at His feet and worshiped him.  Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid.  Go and tell my disciples to come to Galilee, that is where they will see me."

The disciples came to Galilee, and had heard by this time that Jesus was alive.  They were sitting around talking about it, when Jesus walked into the room and said to them, "Peace be with you."  The disciples immediately stopped talking.  Even though they had heard He was alive, they were shocked to see Him standing there with them.

Jesus said to them, "Why do you like at me like you've just seen a ghost?  Why don't you believe what you're seeing?  Look at the scars in my hands and feet.  It is really me!  Touch me and see, I am not a ghost but a real person."

The disciples mouths were open in amazement because they still didn't know what to think.  They were so full of joy, and yet it was so impossible.  Jesus understood what they were thinking, so He said, "This is what I told you would happen, that everything must happen that has already been written in the Bible."

Jesus had told the disciples when they had the Last Supper together.  They took the bread at communion and Jesus said, 'this is my body which I have given to you...' but the disciples hadn't understood what it really meant.

Then Jesus told them, "You have seen these things that have happened, so stay in the city and soon I am going to give you what God has promised you, the Holy Spirit.

When we become Christians Jesus automatically gives us the Holy Spirit to live inside of us.  The Holy Spirit makes us know when we have done something wrong.  We might feel sick to our stomach, or just get a bad feeling, that is the Holy Spirit reminding us that we are doing something wrong, or that we need to stop and say sorry and ask for forgiveness for what we've done.

The story is almost done, but Jesus had one more person to see.  His name was Thomas, and he was one of the disciples that wasn't there when Jesus met with them.  Thomas had also heard that Jesus was alive, but would not believe until he saw Jesus with his own eyes.

A week later when Thomas finally saw Jesus, Jesus said to him, "Put your finger here; see my hands.  Stop doubting and believe."  But Jesus continued, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; but it is more amazing for those who don't see me, and believe anyway."

Jesus Loves You
Jesus appeared several times to the disciples after He rose from the dead.  This is a story of one of those times...

Peter said to some of the other disciples, "I think I'm going to go fishing."  The disciples that were there said, "Wait up, we'll go with you."

It was getting dark outside but the disciples thought they would catch more fish at this time of day.  They got into the boat and went out onto the water, and were out there for a long time.  The time passed and it was almost morning and they still hadn't caught any fish.

Jesus knew where His disciples were and went out to meet them.  He was standing on shore, but the disciples didn't realize who it was.  Jesus called to them, "Friends, haven't you caught any fish?"

"No,"  they answered.  So Jesus told them, "Throw your net on the other side of the boat and you will catch some."  What happened next was amazing.  The disciples who had been fishing all night without catching anything, threw the net over to the other side and within minutes the net was overflowing with fish.

Then one of the disciples realized who had been talking to them, "It is the Lord!"  As soon as Peter heard this he jumped out of the boat to go to Jesus.  (They weren't that far from shore).

The other disciples stayed in the boat, and worked hard to tow all the fish to shore.  When they met up with Jesus, there was a fire started with some bread laying close by.  Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have caught, we'll have breakfast together."

Peter helped the rest of the disciples to get the fish out of the boat.  There were so many fish and they were all so big that they all needed to lift together to get the fish out of the boat because it was so heavy.

Then they all sat together in front of the warm fire and Jesus took the bread and the fish and gave it to them.  This was the third time Jesus had met with the disciples since He rose from the dead.

After breakfast Jesus asked Peter some important questions.  He asked him, "Peter do you love me more than your parents and all your friends?"

"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."  Again Jesus said, "Peter do you truly love me, no matter what?"  He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."

Then Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?"  Peter's feelings were hurt because Jesus kept asking him, but he replied, "Lord, you know the answer, you know that I love you."

"Then follow me,"  Jesus said.

Breakthrough

Hello Everyone I hope your all awesome today!

Lets start with defining a breakthrough, a breakthrough is defined by any significant or sudden advance, development, achievement, or increase, as in scientific knowledge or diplomacy, that removes a barrier to progress.

Personally I think a breakthrough means - When God breaks you though!

Through whatever that is holding you back and hindering you from becoming all that God desires for you.

Spiritual breakthrough - 1 Corinthians Chapter 10 Verse Thirteen

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down, he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.

This is super reassuring to hear and a piece of scripture that can give so many people hope. That God will literally come to the rescue.

Isaiah Chapter 54 Verse 11 to 17
“Afflicted city, storm-battered, unpitied:
I’m about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise,
Lay your foundations with sapphires,
    construct your towers with rubies,
Your gates with jewels,
and all your walls with precious stones.
All your children will have God for their teacher—
what a mentor for your children!
You’ll be built solid, grounded in righteousness,
far from any trouble—nothing to fear!
far from terror—it won’t even come close!
If anyone attacks you,
don’t for a moment suppose that I sent them,
And if any should attack,
    nothing will come of it.
I create the blacksmith
    who fires up his forge
and makes a weapon designed to kill.
I also create the destroyer—
but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged.
Any accuser who takes you to court
will be dismissed as a liar.
This is what God’s servants can expect.
I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.”
        God’s Decree.

Acts Chapter 1 Verse 8
He told them, “You don’t get to know the time. Timing is the Father’s business. What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.”

God to me is breaker, not a heart breaker but I believe he's a bad breaker! He breaks through the bad to create ways for new, good and positive things in your life, for example if you are going through a rough time in your job, and you pray for breakthrough and you 'need' an answer and 'Gods not acting quick enough for you', you need to sit back and believe and trust that he will work in 'his own time' therefore do not rush the Lord! He has perfect timing and you know this deep down.

I believe God breaks the bad and replaces it with opportunities for good. I don't believe he just places good things your life, you have the free will to create good things in your life but I believe god gives us billions of opportunities throughout our days.

Some Christians believe that each day is a 'test' into heaven... I hate tests and hated sitting in exam halls and to try and get my head around the fact God has put us on his planet like a teacher putting children in an exam hall is just a bit to hard to contemplate.
I believe each day is a new opportunity he has forgave you for all your sins in the previous day, so start fresh, you have been given the chance and opportunity to create a wonderful day. Be a blessing towards someone else. And don't forget that if your waiting for a breakthrough don't give up on your savior.

3 Quick Steps to help you through a rough spot when waiting for a breakthrough.
Number One - Realize what you have in your life before complaining and asking for more.
Number Two - Prayer - Pray to the lord and connect in his word.
Number Three - Praise - He has done so much more than you know in your life. Praise him for the blessings in your life instead of worrying about the problems because he will fix your problems and you will have peace!

Kindness To Strangers

Kindness to Strangers.

Hey girls and guys! Hope you’re all happy and healthy and enjoy this new blog!

Let's start...
So what does being kind mean to you? Personally?
Well to me it means putting others needs before your own and helping them and being humble towards them.
A lot of people in this world just think about them and don't think about their actions or the consequences of their actions. This is really sad to me, I worked as a waitress for just under year and witnessed first-hand how mean and selfish people can be towards strangers! I had to 'cope' with rude customers and employers it wasn't a nice working environment to work in but I had to continue until finding another job, which I have now! I write this blog knowing I have 1 more shift in being a waitress and I'm so blessed to be out of that negative environment but some people are still in these places and feel trapped. We need to make places like these feel welcome and positive!

Manners cost absolutely nothing, there free, and people of the world love receiving free stuff so why not take advantage of manners there free and can put a smile on someone's face so easily.

I have been brought up using manners for everything, if I didn't say please for something I wouldn't get it, if I didn't say thank you for something then my parents would say ' and what do you say?' So manners have been enforced in my life pretty severely but children of the world today see adults do something and they mimic them, so if adults remember to use kindness and manners and smile at strangers then the children will pick up on this, and hopefully change their social patterns and be kind to strangers.

Jesus was always kind to strangers and people loved him, follow in his footsteps and be kind to strangers, we are all on this journey together we need to work together and take care of the planet together!

Acts Chapter 20 Verse 35- It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Galatians Chapter 6 Verse 9 - Let us not lose heart in doing good.

Hebrews Chapter 13 Verse 2- Remember to welcome strangers in your homes. There were some who did that and welcomed angels without knowing it.

I feel good when I’ve helped others, and so will you! Giving your time to a stranger up the street for a quick chat might simply make their day, why not take 10 minutes out of your day to help others and inspire others.
We are all God’s children and need to stick together and simply be kind to one another! We don’t have to like everyone but we need to love everyone, as we are loved unconditionally forever.

This is a piece I found from a Children’s Bible by Henry A. Sherman and Charles Foster Kent.
Certain Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, "Go away from here; for Herod wishes to kill you." He said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'See, I cast out evil spirits and cure the sick to-day and to-morrow, but on the third day I must go on my way; for it cannot be that a prophet will be put to death anywhere except in Jerusalem.'"
Jesus left Capernaum and went into the land of Tyre and Sidon. Going into a house, he wished that no one should know that he was there, but he could not escape notice. Soon a woman whose little daughter had an evil spirit heard of him and came and knelt at his feet. Now the woman was a heathen of the Phoenician race. She begged him to drive the evil spirit out of her daughter, but he said to her, "Let the children of Israel first be fed, for it is not fair to take their bread and throw it to the dogs!" She answered him, "True, sir, yet the little dogs under the table do eat the children's crumbs." He said to her, "Because of this answer go to your home; the evil spirit has gone out of your daughter." On returning home she found the child lying on the bed and the evil spirit gone from her.
Jesus again left the land of Tyre and passed through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, crossing the land of Decapolis. The people brought to him a deaf man, who also stammered; and they begged Jesus to lay his hand on him.
Jesus took the man away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man's ears, touched his tongue with saliva, and looking up to heaven, sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha" (which means "Open"). And at once, the man could hear and could talk without stammering.
Then Jesus told them to tell no one, but in spite of what he said the people kept telling about it, saying: "How well he has done everything! He even makes the deaf hear, and the dumb speak."

WE were made in Gods image and if the son of God is kind to strangers and doesn't ask to receive anything from it, then so should we.
Remember guys and gals take at least 10 minutes a day to be kind and go out of your way to help others. Even write a log of your acts of kindness to remind yourself to pray for that person who you were kind too.
Document your acts and also you can document people who need prayer and maybe share it at your church or even twitter!
Thanks for reading my blog!
Hope you enjoyed it

Love and Relationships- Part 3 - What's in your way?

Firstly I would like to say Hellooo Girls AND GUYS!!! Yes this blog is called Bible for Women but i understand that men of God read this blog too...
So Welcome! :-)
I hope you ALL enjoy reading my writings! I enjoy writing them!
I have new views from Russia and Venezuela! This is really overwhelming... Bible For Women - Worldwide!!!!

A huge thank you for the recent support and love I have been shown in my previous blog- Love and Relationships Part 2 - Marriage, I included a lot of your views and opinions on the blog and I also hope you checked Will Gardner out! Great Guy of God! Amazing website and Video Blog on YouTube....

Anyway Part 3! the final segment of this series... 'What's in your way?'

What's in your way to becoming closer to God?
What's in your way to be nice to strangers?
What's in your way to believe that Christ died for you?
What's in your way to pray regularly?
What's in your way to praise Christ?

C'mon Guys and Girls! What's in your way? Today I want you all to think about these, what's the problem and the blockages in your life stopping you from getting closer to Christ!
or what's in your way from actually beginning a relationship with Christ.

I have one answer for you..... THE DEVIL!!!!

The devil can plant one single seed of doubt which can flourish into a horrible thought or thoughts.
The devil can say to you...'God isn't real, there isn't any proof'

God can say to you...' trust me, i am your father and i will protect you'.

But sadly a lot of people don't believe anyone can love them, maybe because of there imperfections and there insecurities.
'why would anyone die for me? why would they love me forever?

The answer is because he made you and you are beautiful inside and out!

God loves you all so much he sent his one and only son to die for your sins on the cross... Imagine the pain Jesus went through so you could be saved!
He died for your sins! And we need to believe this! We need to trust in the Lord! And do not doubt a word he has said to you through his word!

God knows you and has known you since conception and he loves you so dear! We are blessed with a redeeming God who saves the imperfect!

So Girls AND GUYS today! Look in the mirror and say out loud
'' I am beautiful inside and out and God loves me for me''

Than you for reading this blog and remember don't let anything stand in your way of being in a relationship with Christ!

Have a beautiful day my lovelies!
Love Jessica Louise
God Bless

Love and Relationships- Part 2 - Marriage

Hello Beautiful Girls of God
Thank for continuing to read these blog series I really enjoy writing them and also if you have anything to ask me just message me on twitter @BibleBlogWomen
I would love to know what you think of the blog and my questions you have.

Right on with today's topic! Marriage. What do you think marriage represents? As a women or a man what's your views on marriage? Is marriage necessary if your somebody's partner? What do you think about divorce?

I personally believe marriage is a beautiful journey with the person you love the most and want to share your Christ influenced life with. It should be a magical journey and it should start a beautiful life between 2 people and then start a family.
The steps should be marriage then children. Not the other way round!

Genesis 2:22-24

Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.  The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man."  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

I think this is beautiful, two people become one, women were created from men, what a weird but lovely sentiment! Women were created from Men! And when a women and man join they become one.

Proverbs 12:4

A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

Proverbs 19:14

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.

The Lord knows who you are supposed to be paired with, just take a seat back and wait for gods perfect timing for him to welcome your partner into your life, don't think you know best because you don't and you never know whats best for you, let God guide you to the place you were always meant to be.

Colossians 3:18-19

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.  Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

I recently asked a few Twitter and Facebook followers what marriage meant to them and marrying a non christian and also divorce etc.. These are just a few of the responses I received...

@Isikablam - from Turkey-  If you want to be right, you cannot be married. Love your neighbor as yourself. Your spouse is your neighbor. And Also there is a bad compromise and a good compromise- in order for your marriage to work there needs to be a good compromise.

@courtknee_12 - Marriage to me is something you have to pray diligently for. The bible says to equally yoked, so pray that God will send you a spouse- 2 Corinthians 6:14.

@007Groenie - from Pretoria, South Africa - A covenant of love is what I make to you. giving myself to what Christ holds true. I give a love that Christ first gave to me. So you can become all that God intends you to be.

@openupoureyes - from the Philippines - Marriage for me is composed of two people who love each other so much, they are not perfect but their love for each other should be the one binding their love besides imperfections. Specially is they desire a LOVELY marriage, God should be the center of it!!!

@Miss_Baptist - from Oklahoma - Marriage is a sacred thing that connects two people through God. God loves to see his children find their spouse and marry in the will of god. But when you marry out of the will of God it can cause divorce and/or confusion in your children. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? What that verse is saying is a saved person should not marry a lost person. Sure, you may think its 'true love' but if God is not in it, the marriage will not last. In Psalm 127:1 it says, Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: expect the Lord keep the city, the watchman wakeeth but in vain. Say for a second, that you marry unbeliever. You want to go to church on Sunday morning. But on the other hand, your spouse does not. Your children are torn between staying at home watching the television with daddy, and going to church with mommy. In Ephesians 5:25 it says, Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. What that verse is saying is, Christ loved the church so much that he gave himself for it. You deserve a husband that loves you so much he would do the same for you and much much more.

@Growing_In_God - I think that a strong marriage is based around God, trust, respect, and love. Without any of those things, it will not be as strong, healthy, and long- lasting.

Karen McManus - from Hartlepool - I believe marriage is about Love, trust and a deep relationship between a Man & Woman who want to spend the rest of their lives together building their lives with God in the center of it.
It says in the Bible about a Christian marrying a non Christian
1 Corinthians 7,12
Now, I will speak to the rest of you, though I do not have a direct command from the Lord. If a Christian man has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to continue living with him, he must not leave her. And if a Christian woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her, she must not leave him. For the Christian wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the Christian husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy.  (But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the Christian husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.)  Don’t you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you? And don’t you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you?

@tanyaselenaband - Russia and Germany - Well, marriage is something we should appreciate, because it is one of those things which were created by our great God and God loves marriage. So we should too! This journey is not easy, but marriage is a way of giving everything and yourself to your chosen one without wanting anything back!

@godstheultimate - I think that we should only marry someone who we know in our hearts we are meant to spend our lives with. I think that the best quality spouses can have is to worship the Lord together.

What amazing feedback I have been given in just one day!
Thank you all for your responses and giving your opinions today it has meant a lot to me. Spreading Gods Word!!!

Recently I have made a new friend, his name is Will and he has an awesome Video Blog on Youtube or check his website out on Weebly. He has some amazing views and he's from Kentucky!
He shared his views on marriage too! check this out....

What is happening to marriage? Divorce rates are climbing higher and higher, and fewer and fewer people express interest in even getting married. What do we attribute this trend to? Marriage is a sacred and spiritual bond between a man and a woman. If we reference Genesis 2, Adam says of Eve, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:23-24, ESV). Marriage is a bond that quite literally unites husband and wife together in a bond that reaches back to the first couple. So what has caused society to trample on the beauty of marriage? I think it can be attributed to the growing influence Satan has on the idolization of things other than God. Pop culture is a perfect catalyst for doubting the Bible and placing money, sex, and fame above the gospel. Marriage is no longer a sacred bond between man and woman with God at the center. Marriage has become a game of finding someone for a variety of reasons apart from God’s will. Many of the same reasons listed above; money, sex, and fame. However, I think it goes even deeper than that! Even marriages that were founded on solid ground are failing! Apart from sexual immorality, there is no reason for divorce to occur (Matthew 19:9, ESV)… Christ, when placed at the center of any difficult situation can comfort and repair it. God at the center of a failing marriage can heal it. “I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man, cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles” (Psalm 34:4-6, ESV). As if God being absent in society wasn’t already harmful enough, God has also been removed from marriage as a whole, new and old alike. If He hadn’t, I wouldn’t have to write this. Whether you are married or are single, always strive harder each day to establish God’s will within your life, through the gospel and through prayer. Trust in Him, and you will be blessed. For, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1-2, ESV).

GEEZ!!! Girls and Guys check this guy out! He was made to preach and spread the word of God!!!

Here's an introduction to his 'A College Faith' Video Blog and Website....

To be honest, I’m quite tired of hearing loud voices and megaphone users screaming in my ear about the hasty need to repent of my sins. I can’t really do that anymore. Why do so many people and churches feel that somehow they are just more entitled, righteous and perfect than others? The Bible has a lot to offer… it has everything to offer! Yet somehow it seems that a large population of Christians missed that day of Sunday school when the lesson was discussing love, humility, compassion, and selflessness; but especially, humility. We are all sinners. There just isn’t a way around that, whether we are baptized, redeemed, or whatever, our nature remains the same. Jesus Christ died out of love to forgive us of our past and future sin. Understanding our imperfect nature as human beings is really the first step towards a deeper understanding of the gospel and how to live it. Now, I don’t care if you are Christian, Atheist, Hindu, or Muslim, you are welcome on my website any time. My goal in life is to profess the truth of the gospel in a loving and compassionate way, answering all questions and concerns people might have, and helping to guide those of faith!

Love and Relationships- Part 1 - Live and Connect

Part One - Live and Connect

Hello Girls!

I want to first start off by saying I hope you are all health and happy.
This blog on 'Love and Relationships' is really all about How we need to realise everything about God is LOVE. And everything about relationships should start off with a relationship with God. You need to tell him you belong to him and ask him to lead you to the cross. Ask him for a relationship or a stronger connection to him. Out of past experiences a relationship with God is simply difficult!

Simple because you should love your creator but difficult because of the devil and others coming into your mind and filling your head with doubts.
Being a Christ follower simply means not doubting and trusting in God.
The bible mentions Trust over 180 times!

I believe that love is god, I know Christ is the creator and created everything including feelings, your feelings towards things and beings, therefore I believe that when you meet your 'soul mate' and you feel love and joy and commitment I believe that is God too. God knows who you are destined for and he will make that clear by feelings.

Set fire to the life that you know and start a fire in your heart by starting a relationship with god in it. You firstly need to have a relationship with God before he can show you who you are destined to be with. It might be someone you don't like, or someone you've just met or it could be an old friend who god wants you to be with, either way, his plan is final, your story is wrote on his heart and its unbreakable, if you go off the path he will bring you back on the right path and guide you to where you should be.

Activity: Pray today about a relationship with god, a fuller connection, make God your one true love and show him that you are grateful for him giving you life, and everything that usually slips your mind, and things you take for granted, be more thankful and he will give you more snippets of your story. He will show you the path and the way forward if you show him that you want a relationship with him.

A relationship with God and showing God that you love him is super important, you have the chance to love an amazing god and be loved in return. How amazing is it that, God created Earth for us, he had us in mind before he even created the planet, how amazing is that?!?! Like seriously WOAH!

Today I want you all to tell yourselves you are a child of God, you are loved incredible amounts and you are never alone. You are so important God thought about you before he even made your world!
Thank Him! Thank him for everything!

Thank you for reading this blog!
I pray that all of you lovely girls of God receive a stronger relationship with God, and a fuller life because of that.
Love you Lots
God Bless

Thank You Beautiful Girls of God.

Hey girls!
First I would like to thank you amazing girls of God for reading this blog! I have had page views from all over the world including The United Kingdom, United States of America, Switzerland, Germany, Nigeria, Spain, Israel, Mexico, Philippines and South Africa!
I am seriously over the moon that i might of actually impacted people!
My purpose in life is to spread the word of God and inspire people and encourage them to a life with Christ!

Recently I have had my dreams shattered of moving to america, but now i realise that this is all part of Gods plan and his journey for me.
When you fail or crumble just pick your self up, brush off the dirt. Brush all the broken pieces away and DON'T LOSE HOPE! Hold Gods hand and think ' what does god want me to learn from this?' ask him! Connect to him and ask him, ask and you will receive the answer.
I was just about to lose hope when i realised... Wait a minute I am a daughter of The Lord Jesus Christ and I am protected and I am never alone.

If things don't go according to my plan I know that there going towards the plan my creator has for me! A better and well- suited plan for me, he knows me better than anybody else and I've got to trust this and trust him with my life!
Therefore after my recent plans being torn up, it left room for a new plan.... An exciting plan! God has amazing things planned for me and super amazing things planned for every girl of God! Don't lose hope and faith!

My new plan is reaching out to Girls all over the world and hopefully sharing experiences with others and preaching his word to girls who need to hear...

'God loves you and he loves you for who you are, the imperfect warrior fighting off the devil with his word'

So heads up and watch this space as I figure out what he has in store for me, I have a feeling whatever he has up his sleeve isn't going to easy but I'm going to stick with it and pursue my dream!

Girls don't stop dreaming, just because one of my dreams didn't go to plan doesn't mean the rest of my dreams won't. I have confidence and strength given from God and I'm going to use my gifts and be thankful for all I have.

Thank you Beautiful girls of God! Keep reading this blog and I promise I will try my hardest to blog topics which you can easily relate to and things which can help you and inspire you in your life.

Love you Girls of God!
 God Bless
